"Mom did not believe in processed food," Garner shared in an interview with CBS News. "So, everything we had was homemade. If it was a cookie, it was a homemade cookie."
Having known the health benefits of homemade food, she partnered with the people who have the same ideal. Ari Raz and Cassandra Curtis, who developed the product in 2015, and John Foraker, who was the former president of Annie's Homegrown, co-founded Once Upon a Farm with Garner.
Garner, who serves as the Chief Brand Officer for the company, purchased the farm where her mother grew up on in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. There they will be growing produce including kale, blueberries, and persimmons to use for the organic baby food.
The foods or smoothies come in pouches and are developed according to the age of the little ones. It is available in magical flavors such as The Fairiest of Pears, Rasp-Pear-y Vanilla Fairy, Appley Eating Greens, among others.
Currently, Once Upon a Farm are sold online and at Walmart, Target, Kroger, Vons, and Sprouts Farmers Markets.
