She is Now the Highest Paid Female Director Ever -- After Signing an $8 Million Deal to Produce "Wonder Woman 2"

Patti Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman
Patti Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman starring actress Gal Gadot, has just signed another deal worth $8 million to produce the sequel of the hit film. Negotiations with DC Films and Warner Bros. reportedly started when the film generated more than $103 million during its opening weekend this past June.

The film has since generated more than $810 million at box offices worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of summer 2017.

Where did she come from?

Believe it or not but Wonder Woman is actually Patti's first major film.

She did, however, write and direct a 2003 crime drama film called Monster about a serial killer prostitute. The next year, she even won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature for that film.

But aside from that, she has spent most of her career working in television. In 2011, she directed one segment in the made-for-television anthology film Five, and two episode of the drama series The Killing.

Throughout the years, she was offered deals to direct other major films such as Thor, but the deals kept falling through.

But in 2015, DC Films gave her a chance to be director of Wonder Woman and it was obviously a genius decision!

Making history

Now, in addition to being a woman who has directed a blockbuster film. She is also the highest paid female filmmaker ever, and has the opportunity to do it again with the film's sequel.

There have been a lot of game changers in the past century for women in the film industry, but this one tops them all.

Patti is truly an inspiration to women filmmakers and women entrepreneurs all across the globe, and she already has quite the following with more than 140,000 Twitter followers.
